Business Card Scanner & Holder (“the App”) is developed by Gobaith Technologies. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use the App. By using the App, you acknowledge the practices described in this Privacy Policy.

1 – Information We Collect

a) Information You Provide

The App may collect information that you choose to create, scan, save, edit, back up, restore, or share, including

  • Contact information extracted from scanned business cards, such as name, phone number, email address, company, job title, website, social media handles, and mailing address
  • Information you manually enter or edit in the App
  • Notes, custom fields, tags, or other details you add to saved contacts
  • Your own “My Cards” details that you choose to create and store
  • Images selected or captured for contact photos or My Cards, stored locally on your device

b) Account Information

If you sign in with Google, the App may receive your Google account name, email address, profile identifier, and authentication information through Firebase Authentication and Google Sign-In. This information is used for account access, cloud backup, restore, and Pro subscription-related features.

c) Cloud Backup Information

If you are signed in and use Pro cloud features, the App may upload your saved contact details and My Cards data to Google Cloud Firestore. Cloud backup does not upload business card image files or local image paths. Images remain stored locally on your device unless you share them yourself using another app.

d) Subscription Information

If you purchase a Pro subscription, subscription status and purchase-related information are processed through Google Play Billing and RevenueCat. We do not collect or store your credit card number, bank details, or full payment information.

e) Advertising, Device, and Diagnostic Information

The App uses Google AdMob to show ads to free-tier users. Google AdMob and related SDKs may collect information such as:

  • Advertising ID
  • App set ID or other device/account identifiers
  • IP address, which may be used to estimate approximate location
  • App interactions, such as ad views, taps, and app usage events
  • Diagnostic and performance information
  • This data is handled according to Google’s advertising and privacy policies.

2 – How We Use Your Information

We use information to:

  • Scan and extract text from business cards using on-device OCR
  • Scan QR codes and barcodes on-device
  • Save, organize, search, edit, and manage your contacts
  • Create and manage your own My Cards
  • Let you review and correct extracted OCR information before saving
  • Enable sharing features such as vCard, QR code, PDF export, and Android share sheet
  • Open the Android system contact screen if you choose to save a contact to your phone
  • Provide local follow-up reminder notifications that you schedule
  • Authenticate your identity when you sign in with Google
  • Provide cloud backup and restore for signed-in Pro subscribers
  • Manage Pro subscription status
  • Show advertisements to free-tier users
  • Improve app functionality, performance, reliability, and security
  • Comply with legal, security, fraud prevention, and policy requirements

3 – Local Storage and Cloud Storage

Local Storage:
By default, your saved contacts, My Cards, images, app settings, and related data are stored locally on your device. Local data remains on your device unless you delete it in the App, clear app data, or uninstall the App.

Cloud Storage:
Cloud backup is available only for signed-in Pro users. If you use cloud backup, contact details and My Cards data are stored in Google Cloud Firestore under your authenticated user account. This allows you to restore your data when needed. Business card images and local image paths are not uploaded to Firestore cloud backup.

Free Users:
Free users can use the App locally. Contact and card data is not uploaded to Firestore unless the user signs in and uses eligible cloud backup features. However, free-tier users may still have advertising, device, diagnostic, and subscription-related data processed by third-party SDKs such as Google AdMob, Google Play, and RevenueCat.

4 – Security

We use reasonable technical measures to help protect your data.

  • Data transmitted to Firebase, Google, RevenueCat, and other supported services is encrypted in transit using HTTPS/TLS.
  • Cloud data is protected through Firebase Authentication and Firestore security rules.
  • OCR and QR scanning are processed on your device.
  • We do not upload card images to external servers for OCR processing.

No method of electronic storage or transmission is completely secure, so we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5 – Permissions

The App may request or use the following permissions and system features:

  • Camera: Used to capture business card images and scan QR codes.
  • Internet: Used for Google Sign-In, Firebase cloud backup and restore, AdMob ads, RevenueCat subscription management, Google Play Billing, privacy policy links, and other online features.
  • Network State: Used to check connectivity for cloud sync, ads, and online services.
  • Notifications: Used only to send local follow-up reminders that you schedule.
  • Advertising ID: Used by Google AdMob for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention purposes.
  • Photo/Image Selection: The App lets users select business card images through the system image picker. The App does not require broad storage access or full gallery access.
  • Contacts: The App does not request access to your device contacts
  • Microphone: The App does not use or request microphone access.

6 – On-Device Processing

  • Text recognition is performed on-device using Google ML Kit.
  • QR code and barcode scanning are performed on-device.
  • Images used for OCR are not uploaded to our servers for processing.
  • Captured or selected images may be temporarily processed by the App for scanning.
  • Images added to contacts or My Cards are stored locally on your device and are not included in cloud backup.

7 – Third-Party Services

The App uses third-party services that may collect, process, or store data according to their own privacy policies.

Google ML Kit:
Used for on-device text recognition, QR code scanning, and barcode scanning.

8 – Advertising

The App displays ads to free-tier users through Google AdMob. AdMob may collect and process data such as Advertising ID, IP address, app interactions, diagnostic information, and device/account identifiers for advertising, analytics, and fraud prevention. Pro subscribers are not shown in-app ads by the App. However, Google Mobile Ads SDK behavior and any previously collected advertising-related data are governed by Google’s own policies. You can reset or delete your Advertising ID or limit personalized ads through your Android device settings.

9 – In-App Purchases and Subscriptions

The App offers Pro subscriptions through Google Play Billing. Subscription purchases are processed by Google Play and managed through RevenueCat. We use subscription status only to decide whether Pro features should be unlocked. We do not collect or store your credit card number, bank account details, or full payment credentials. Canceling or deleting your App account does not automatically cancel your Google Play subscription. You must manage or cancel subscriptions through your Google Play account.

10 – Sharing Your Data

We do not sell your saved business card contacts, My Cards, or cloud backup data. Your data may be shared or processed in the following situations:

  • When you choose to share a contact, QR code, vCard, PDF, or other content using the Android share sheet
  • When you choose to save a contact using the Android system contact screen
  • With service providers and SDKs used by the App, such as Google, Firebase, AdMob, Google Play Billing, and RevenueCat
  • When required for subscription validation, advertising, analytics, diagnostics, security, or fraud prevention
  • When required by law, legal process, or valid government request

11 – Data Retention and Deletion

Local Data:
Local data remains on your device until you delete it inside the App, clear app data, or uninstall the App. Uninstalling the App normally removes local app data from your device, but it does not automatically delete cloud backup data, Firebase account data, RevenueCat data, Google Play subscription records, or data held by third-party services.

Cloud Backup Data:
Cloud backup data is retained while your app account/cloud backup remains active. Deleting a contact locally may not immediately delete the same contact from cloud backup unless you explicitly overwrite, delete, or request removal of cloud data. This is designed to make cloud backup safer and reduce accidental data loss. You may request deletion of your cloud backup data by contacting us.

Account Deletion:
You can request deletion of your App account and associated cloud backup data by:

  • Using Settings → Delete Account inside the App, or
  • Emailing us at mk021375@gmail.com with the subject line: Request for Account Deletion

Please include the Google account email address used to sign in to the App so we can identify your account. Deleting your App account does not delete your Google account. We aim to process account and data deletion requests within 30 days, unless we need to retain certain information for legal, security, fraud prevention, payment, or compliance reasons.

Advertising and Third-Party Data:
Advertising, subscription, diagnostic, and purchase-related data may be retained by Google, RevenueCat, or other third-party services according to their own retention policies.

12 – Your Choices and Rights

Depending on your location and applicable law, you may have rights to:

  • View, edit, or delete contacts and My Cards stored in the App
  • Choose whether to sign in with Google
  • Choose whether to use cloud backup and restore
  • Request deletion of your App account and cloud backup data
  • Opt out of personalized advertising through Android settings
  • Cancel subscriptions through Google Play
  • Uninstall the App to remove local app data from your device
  • Contact us with privacy-related questions or requests

13 – Children’s Privacy

The App is intended for professional and general productivity use. It is not directed to children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children. If you believe a child has provided personal information through the App, please contact us at mk021375@gmail.com and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

14 – International Data Processing

Third-party services used by the App, including Google, Firebase, AdMob, Google Play, and RevenueCat, may process data on servers located in different countries. Their processing is governed by their own privacy policies and legal safeguards.

15 – Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated effective date. Continued use of the App after changes means you acknowledge the updated Privacy Policy.
